Jo Fougner Skaansar is a Norwegian musician, composer and psychologist.

Skaansar studied jazz bass at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim and at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He took his clinical psychology degree at the University of Oslo.

Skaansar works as a bass player, performing, touring and recording with several artists and bands. He has contributed on more than 60 recordings and released three albums as a leader.

Jo teaches performance psychology at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
