“Fange av mi tid” (“Prisoner of my time”) is the second album of Norwegian jazz bass player, composer and psychologist Jo Skaansar (b. 1984). The album is based on Skaansar’s versatile work as a bassist and composer, and a continuous songwriting-collaboration with the 35 year older author and lyricist Edvard Hoem.

Vocalist Ine Hoem, who has recently arisen as one of the top vocalists in Norway, is still an important musical partner of Jo’s. Together with the outstanding Helge Lien (piano) and Håkon Mjåset Johansen (drums), Ine and Jo are creating musical magic from Skaansar’s melodically varied and harmonically sophisticated compositions at the intersection between jazz and folk music.
